My blog
My paintings reference images of the figure, portraits and pastoral landscapes and I explore my ideas and images by drawing, oil and acrylic painting, mixed media and print making. I am currently experimenting combining abstraction with realism in my art work.
I am also experimenting with depicting the figure in both portrait and imaginative settings. I like to employ a sense of mystery and drama and create a painterly impression of the figure.
I try to create beautiful, yet surreal landscape paintings, drawn from my imagination. I aim at capturing the painterly characteristics inherent in nature such as the reflections of light on water in my painting ‘Hidden Gem’.
I am influenced by past historical art styles such as Impressionism, Surrealism, Magical Realism as well as the modern contemporary art scene.
